Greetings Early MusiChicago,

I'm new to the area and am wondering if any one has recommendations for good classical music record stores.  I am especially interested in baroque music.

Thanks,

Drew

What this town needs is a good Renaissance band!

Drew:

A centrally located shop (located downtown) with a good selection is:

Tower Records
214 S. Wabash Ave
Chicago, IL 60604
(312) 663-0660

For used CDs, we have an excellent shop here in Oak Park:

Chicago Digital
905 S. Oak Park Ave
Oak Park, IL 60304
708-383-1870

I'm sure there are other good stores around town (not to mention Borders and other chain stores), but those are the two places I most often go to.

Although you really have to know what you're looking for since it's mixed in with the general "Classical" stuff, Borders Books and Music has a pretty nice selection of Early Music discs.
