The Callipygian Players Autumn 2006 Concert “True Genius” The music of Johann Sebastian Bach The Callipygian Players announce their Autumn 2006 concert “True Genius”. Come and hear this exciting ensemble playing music of the Baroque era using period instruments. J. S. Bach fused beautiful melodies into contrapuntal masterpieces of immense complexity. The Callipygian Players will present some of his most famous works. His sonatas for harpsichord and obbligato violin take the continuo violin sonata to its greatest heights. Also on the program are: a viola da gamba sonata, the famous concerto for two violins, aria transcriptions and the Toccata in D. Baroque violinist/Director Martin Davids will be joined by violinist Garry Clarke, cellist Craig Trompeter, harpsichordist David Schrader and Jerry Fuller on violone.
