These collaborative concerts by Ars Antigua and The Oriana Singers celebrate the genius of Claudio Monteverdi (1576-1643) whose work represents the culmination of madrigal composition in Italy while leading the way to new musical forms. The age-old conflict between Mars and Venus provides the leitmotif for these concerts with emotions veering wildly from ecstasy to despair.
