Ars Antigua 2007-2008 Concert Season

I am excited to share with you an exciting new development for Ars Antigua. Starting this coming January you will be able to hear monthly internet broadcasts of our performances. Later this fall, I will email you information about each of these “Early Music Interludes” that will include modern premieres of baroque works by Johann Schmelzer and Christoph Graupner as well as more familiar music by Telemann and Boccherini.

We have developed this new electronic performance venue for three reasons: 1) our usual concert space, Quigley Chapel, is closed for renovation until at least next summer, 2) I have received a number of requests to hear our concerts from early music fans in Japan and Europe, and 3) the success that the Metropolitan Opera and other ensembles have had with electronic distribution of their performances.
