Title: What's an avatar?
Post by Forum Admin on Mar 19th, 2003, 4:29pm
So what's this about "avatars"?

According to Webster, an avatar is "any incarnation or embodiment."

For purposes of this Forum, an avatar is the little portrait or icon that accompanies your message posts.

When you visit the Profile link (see above), you have the means to personalize your avatar.  We have a limited selection of avatars to choose from (e.g., Bach, Handel, renaissance ladies, Homer Simpson, Sylvester the Cat, etc.).  We will add to this selection over time.

You also have the option to link to avatars from other sites.  (Use Google or some other search engine and search on the keyword "avatar".)

Don't be drab.  Be creative, and select an avatar that's really "you"!
