Ars Antigua will perform a concert of music from the Mexican Baroque. European forms such as the motet and the cantata were given "New World" accents by composers working in the Netherlands, and Spanish-speaking colonies. Examples of these compositions will be performed along with contemporaneous works from Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain as models for comparison. Most of the music performed will be sacred works, and all of the music was written by women who lived over 300 years ago.

Crispian Steele-Perkins, considered by many to be "the world's leading player of the natural (Baroque) trumpet," will perform a concert with the
Chicago Brass Band. In this his final U.S. tour, Crispian will perform standard trumpet solos and give natural trumpet demonstrations. The concert will also feature the music CBB will perform at the North American Brass Band Association Championships in April.
